The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and quality of data within payment and cash custody systems. This role involves in establishing and maintaining the data governance frameworks, monitoring compliance with data policies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize the data management practices.

Payment Cash Custody - Data Governance function is vital to State Street and Enables transparency of data that is available within the enterprise. It ensures coordination is occurring between the providers and consumers of data, ensure that the right data is being used for the right purpose. Also enables reuse of data through the definition of authoritative, trusted sources of data and ensuring those datasets are use where they exists. Ensures data quality needs are clearly understood from the project initiation to execution.

What you will be responsible for

As a Data Governance Analyst – Senior Associate you will work on multiple of dimensions below:

 

  • Ensure the availability and quality of critical payment and banking data within the new applications, Transact, RTPS, RPH, Data Warehouse and all in-scope applications in Payment Cash Custody, are in line with the stated business requirements (BRD’s)
  • Data governance activities are executed to maturity Level 3 per the EDGM policy.
  • Near Real Time Messages, Data Extracts and Reports are made available for all business and end users in alignment with systems
  • Ensure to understand the scope for all the projects impacting applications; accountability for governance established and tracked
  • Discover application, Establish element to element lineage between extract and application
  • Provide training and validation of governance activities across impacted stakeholders
  • Ensure execution of Data Governance activities are embedded into the project life cycle and completed by accountable individuals
  • Continually assess opportunities for improvement in the Data Governance life cycle
  • Develop and implement data governance policies for payment and cash custody applications.
  • Monitor and analyze data flows to identify risks, inconsistencies for improvements
  • Coordinate with IT, operations, & compliance teams to ensure that data accuracy is in line with regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of data quality and security within relevant systems.
  • Document data lineage and maintain metadata repositories for critical business information.
  • Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on best practices in data governance and stewardship.

Education & Qualifications & Preferred Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s Degree in Finance/Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of Experience with Investment Banking in the Assets Servicing area of payment and cash custody applications and data governance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements impacting financial data management.
  • Experience in banking environments or financial services
  • Proficient in Data Lineage, Mapping and experience in Data Governance Application i.e. Collibra
  • Good knowledge of data privacy laws and compliance standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with all the stakeholders
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Having knowledge on SQL, Python, Power BI, is a plus
