PCB CAD LIBRARIAN
Job Summary
As a PCB CAD Librarian at NXP Semiconductors México, you will be responsible for the creation, maintenance, and quality control of our PCB component libraries. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our hardware design process.
Job Responsibilities
* Create and maintain high-quality PCB component footprints, 3D models, and schematic symbols in accordance with NXP standards, industry best practices (e.g., IPC), and manufacturer datasheets.
* Perform thorough verification and validation of all library components to ensure accuracy, electrical connectivity, mechanical fit, and manufacturability.
* Manage and update the central CAD library database, ensuring version control and accessibility for design teams.
* Collaborate closely with hardware design engineers, layout engineers, and component engineering to understand their library needs and provide timely support.
* Develop and implement library creation and maintenance procedures to optimize efficiency and ensure data integrity.
* Participate in the evaluation and selection of new CAD tools and library management software.
* Identify and resolve library-related issues and discrepancies.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
* Maintain documentation of library standards, procedures, and component data.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
* 3+ years of experience in PCB CAD library development and management.
* Proficiency with leading PCB CAD tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics PADS/Xpedition).
* Strong understanding of IPC standards for PCB footprint design (e.g., IPC-7351).
* Solid knowledge of electronic components, datasheets, and manufacturing processes.
* Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, SKILL) for library tasks is a plus.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
* Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems is desirable.
