Key Accountabilities:

Strategic Account Management

  • Serve as the overall relationship owner with the partner bank, managing senior stakeholders and executive alignment.
  • Develop joint business plans (sales, marketing, training, and digital initiatives) aligned with both organizations’ goals.
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly account reviews and ensure all strategic deliverables are met.

Sales Management & Productivity

  • Lead bancassurance sales management from HQ down to regional/state offices, ensuring alignment and execution discipline.
  • Set and cascade clear sales targets (APE, NBP, protection mix) across national, regional, and branch levels.
  • Establish a sales performance management system including dashboards, KPIs, and regular reviews.
  • Drive sales productivity uplifted by optimizing cases per RM, average premium per case, and penetration per branch.
  • Build and maintain a highly effective salesforce through structured recruitment, training, certification, coaching, and career development.
  • Partner with bank distribution leadership to instill a sales culture that embeds Takaful as a core offering.
  • Identify underperforming regions/branches and implement targeted interventions (task forces, coaching programs, incentive realignments).

Business Development & Growth

  • Expand product penetration across retail, affluent, SME, and corporate banking segments.
  • Drive innovative product propositions, e.g. MRTT refinancing, legacy/hibah offerings, and digitally enabled micro-Takaful.
  • Negotiate partnership enhancements, joint campaigns, and performance-based incentives with the bank.

Marketing & Go-to-Market (GTM)

  • Develop co-branded campaigns with the bank across physical and digital channels.
  • Align Takaful GTM initiatives with bank customer journeys (branch, mobile app, online banking, contact center).
  • Design lead generation and conversion programs with measurable ROI.
  • Execute segment-based marketing strategies (youth, mass affluent, SME) to increase penetration.

Customer Retention & Loyalty

  • Monitor persistency and drive retention initiatives, including onboarding campaigns, renewal reminders, and personalized retention journeys.
  • Partner with bank and internal CX teams to improve NPS and customer engagement.
  • Implement cross-sell and upsell strategies across bank customer base to improve customer lifetime value.

Digital Enablement & Transformation

  • Champion the digitalization of the banca sales model (e-apps, STP, e-claims, digital leads).
  • Drive adoption of mobile sales tools, integrated CRM/CLM, and digital dashboards for RMs and HQ leadership.
  • Collaborate with bank IT/digital teams to integrate Takaful products into their digital ecosystem (apps, wallets, APIs).
  • Leverage advanced analytics, AI, and predictive models to improve targeting, productivity, and retention.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Manage senior bank executives and internal EXCO stakeholders to ensure joint alignment.
  • Ensure strict compliance with BNM, Shariah requirements, and all governance frameworks.
  • Lead regular joint steering committees and performance reviews.

Qualification and Experience

  • 12–15 years in insurance/Takaful with at least 5 years leading bancassurance sales.
  • Proven experience in salesforce management across HQ and regions.
  • Strong record in account management, marketing, digital transformation, and retention strategies.
  • Ability to influence senior bank executives and lead large cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related; MBA preferred.
