The Position

Payroll, Time & Benefits Senior Specialist (Supporting Poland and Austria)

Location: This hybrid role can be based in either Warsaw, Poland, or Budapest, Hungary, depending on the candidate's location.

In this role, you will be key to delivering essential services, including payroll execution, benefits administration, and advisory support, ensuring the optimal functionality of Roche People Practices. As the Senior Specialist, you will be instrumental in executing critical HR system data maintenance and administrative activities with precision and accuracy across the areas of payroll, tax, social insurance, time, and benefits for Poland and Austria.

The Opportunity:

  • Execute accurate and timely system data maintenance and administrative activities across payroll, tax, social insurance, time, and global/local benefits for Poland and Austria.

  • Serve as the expert contact, providing guidance, advisory support, and complex inquiry resolution to employees, managers, and first-level support teams.

  • Manage, process, and reconcile mass upload files, monitor data flows to/from Workday/Vendor, and ensure accurate, timely integration processing.

  • Guarantee regulatory compliance for all processes in line with Polish and Austrian country regulations, policies, and employer obligations.

  • Actively initiate and participate in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for P&C processes and procedures (SWIs).

  • Develop and manage proactive relationships with key internal stakeholders (P&C, Finance, IT) and external payroll/benefit vendors.

  • Act as a role model, coach/train newcomers, and support quality control processes to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.


 

Who you are:

  • 2-5+ years of specialist experience in payroll and benefits.

  • Deep knowledge of local tax and social insurance regulations for both Poland and Austria.

  • Knowledge of Workday P&C Processes.

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot table, v-lookup, etc.).

  • Strong communication skills in English, Polish, and German (both written and spoken).

  • A proven ability to be a decisive, independent problem-solver with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to customer centricity.
