We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh. This role will be based in Bermuda and is a full-time onsite position.
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end execution of payroll tasks to establish and maintain accurate client and payroll records, execute payroll processing production, and ultimately produce accurate and timely payroll payments to clients. This position requires intermediate or advanced knowledge of company policies and procedures, local payroll law and employment regulations.
We will count on you to:
Utilizes HRMS software to effectively manage the day-to-day processing of client payroll
Audits client data to ensure compliance with local payroll laws
Reviews new hires, rehires, and transfers entered into the payroll system for accuracy utilizing peer review process
Supports special projects of a more complex nature
Ensures documentation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) are kept up-to-date as procedures change and creating new SOPs as needed
Administers the execution of day-to-day operational tasks, case load evaluation and quality assurance, bringing issues to the attention of the manager as needed
Peer reviews payroll entries to ensure accuracy of data entry and reports concerns to the manager when issues are identified and/or escalated
Updates earnings, taxes, and voluntary and involuntary deductions for appropriate payroll cycle(s) by data entry into HRMS system; utilizes data and reporting from work management tools to ensure that service level agreements are met or exceeded, providing timely service and quality problem resolution; performs other job-related duties as required
What you need to have:
3+ years of payroll processing experience or other relevant experience, with intermediate to advanced knowledge in payroll production and payroll tax rules and regulations
Requires strong communication (written & oral), organization, and customer service skills
Requires strong computer and analytical skills in a Windows based environment – including Excel, Outlook, and Word
Strong knowledge of HR Management Systems (HRMS), Great Plains software, Microsoft Dynamics, and case management software preferred
