Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. This role involves calculating wages, verifying allowances, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with local, state regulations. The specialist also collaborates with HR and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and improve payroll operations.

What will you do?

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and labor regulations.
  • Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits.
  • Handle payroll queries from employees.
  • Generate payroll reports for management and audits.
  • Handle Payroll Vendor Management and audits
  • Collaborate with HR and finance departments to resolve discrepancies including JV and GL
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and tax requirements.
  • Handle Tax related notices
  • Processing Gratuity payment and coordinating with LIC

What we look for?

  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and labor laws.
  • Expertise in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, HR, or related field preferred.
  • 4–6 years of payroll experience.


Challenges & Considerations

  • Compliance risk: Payroll specialists must stay updated on tax and other payroll related law changes to avoid penalties.
  • Accuracy pressure: Even small errors can impact employee trust and financial reporting.
  • Technology reliance: Requires skill with payroll systems and adaptability to new tools.
