The Role:

As a Payroll Specialist for Spain and Portugal, you’ll be the go-to expert for end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You’ll collaborate remotely with global Payroll, HR, Finance, and Compliance teams to deliver timely payroll and support our employees. Your expertise in Spanish payroll legislation, tax compliance, and social security processes will be key to our success.

Your Impact:

  • Prepare, validate, and process monthly payroll for Spain and Portugal in compliance with local legislation, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements
  • Maintain and update employee data in payroll systems (ADP Celergo)
  • Manage payroll partner (ADP) to meet key calendar milestones and ensure accurate outcomes
  • Ensure payroll practices comply with Spanish labor law, social security, tax regulations, and internal SOX compliance
  • Administer and audit social and tax declarations and payments made by payroll partners
  • Manage employee benefits, variable pay, overtime, commissions, and other payroll elements
  • Generate and deliver regular payroll reports and analytics for HR and Finance departments
  • Coordinate with external payroll providers, tax authorities, and social security institutions in Spain and Portugal
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
  • Partner with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll queries and support audits
  • Provide guidance on payroll-related matters to internal stakeholders

  • Good experience in payroll processing within Spain & Portugal, ideally in a retail or fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of Spanish labor law, taxation, and social security
  • Solid knowledge of AEAT procedures, IRPF obligations, and TGSS requirements
  • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements (convenios colectivos)
  • Experience with payroll compliance audits and vendor management
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Fluency in English
