The Role
Bega Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Services Team Lead to lead a dedicated team of payroll professionals managing diverse pay cycles across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly schedules.
In this fast-paced, hands-on role, you’ll coach and mentor your team to deliver exceptional results while driving change management initiatives, supporting system reviews, and contributing to exciting and upcoming projects.
As a member of the broader People and Capability team, you will thrive in a collaborative environment that values open and honest conversations, continuous improvement, and the pursuit of better working practices, all while fostering strong connections and having fun.
With solid experience leading teams in complex environments and multi-site organisations and strong knowledge of Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs), you will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and innovation across our payroll operations.
This is a Hybrid position; as part of Bega Flex policy, you will enjoy our amazing corporate office at Docklands 3008, mixed with working from home.
Responsibilities:
Oversee end-to-end payroll delivery and ensure timely remittance of third-party payments while maintaining compliance.
Lead and manage the team, resources, and month-end reporting, providing accurate pay reports to stakeholders including STP and superannuation.
Create a culture of safety, open communication, and continuous growth, mentoring your team to reach their full potential.
Drive process improvements, lead change management initiatives, and support system implementations for greater efficiency.
Maintain strong governance through internal audits, accurate payroll reporting, and visibility over payroll costs.
About you
Proven track record in leading payroll teams managing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cycles, with strong EBA background.
Comprehensive understanding of Australian payroll processes, statutory requirements, and legislative provisions.
Demonstrated experience in handling projects and managing change effectively within payroll operations, highly regarded.
Experience with Micropay, Kronos, and Workday systems will be an advantage.
Proven ability to effectively lead and coach a team in a complex environment, with multi-site organisation with several Enterprise Agreements.
