An excellent opportunity is available for a Payroll Officer to join the People and Culture department at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.
About the position
The Payroll Officer is a key member of the Payroll team within People and Culture. Reporting to the Senior Payroll Officer, the role supports the accurate, timely and compliant delivery of the Institute’s payroll function. Working closely with colleagues both in Payroll and partnering with People and Culture specialists across business partnering, and remuneration and benefits, the Payroll Officer ensures high-quality service to staff and clear, reliable provision of workforce data.
Selection Criteria
Personal qualities:
A strong team player with a positive and proactive approach to work activities.
Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure, manage competing priorities, and navigate challenging situations with sound judgment
Knowledge and skills:
Previous experience in payroll, and the use of a computerised payroll system or other relevant database.
Experience using HR systems to collect and interpret workforce data.
Proven ability to deliver key activities within specified deadlines.
Sound numeracy skills with an ability to identify, investigate and resolve issues ensuring attention to detail.
Tertiary qualifications in accounting, human resource management or experience in a human resources role will be highly regarded.
Terms of appointment
This position is available for one year in a part time (0.8FTE) capacity. Salary is Professional Services Employee Level 6 ($95,135 - $102,979). Up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are available.
