Job Description

The Payroll Manager will coordinate and participate in technical payroll accounting activities; oversee the preparation, maintenance, processing, analysis and auditing of manual and automated payroll data, information, records and reports; ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions; lead, train and provide work direction and guidance to staff.

This is an exempt role, being paid $80,000 to $90,000 per year.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processing timely and accurate payrolls
  • Manage day-to-day payroll items including but not limited to garnishments, direct deposits, pay rate changes, and employee benefit changes
  • Oversight of bonus calculations and processing
  • Maintain process documentation and drive continuous improvement of payroll business processes
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee information
  • Reconcile 401(k), HSA, and garnishment payments
  • Reconcile 940/941 tax payments
  • Process accurate and timely year end reporting (W-2, W-2c, 1095)
  • Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Train and provide informal leadership to other payroll team members

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/HR/Finance or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience processing multi-state payroll with knowledge of payroll taxes and solid understand of different state payroll laws
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and enjoy working with people
  • Expert at providing superb customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred
  • Experience with Workday HCM/Payroll preferred
