ABOUT THE ROLE: 

The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for processing the organization’s payroll. They will partner with the Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist on payroll processes, benefit data, and timesheet review. They bring advanced excel skills, the ability to work with and mine through large sets of data, conduct analyses, find trends, and share insights and recommendations on findings. This role is open to be 100% remote (working west coast hours) and is part time with an estimated 16-32 hours needed weekly. The role will be 6 months long with potential to extend.

You’re comfortable working with payroll systems and large datasets, using tools like Excel and HRIS platforms to ensure information is accurate and processes run seamlessly. As you grow your expertise in payroll regulations and benefits administration, you’re always looking for ways to improve workflows and strengthen data integrity. Collaboration comes naturally to you - you enjoy partnering with HR, finance, and team members across the organization to ensure employees are paid correctly, benefits are managed smoothly, and every detail is handled with care and professionalism. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

OWNING 

  • Partner on bi-weekly payroll processing in Paylocity  
  • Assist with monthly benefit vendor reporting for finance, such as reviewing invoices and ensuring costs are allocated correctly  
  • Support weekly timesheet processing and approval  

THINKING 

  • Review data for inconsistencies and flag discrepancies, with developing skills in ability to resolve complex payroll discrepancies  
  • Contribute ideas to enhance the processes  

DOING 

  • Maintain organized digital records and ensure data integrity across all HR systems  
  • Reconcile payroll reports and prepare post payroll documentation  
  • Support HR projects, audits, and annual compliance activities  

 

WHAT YOU BRING: 

  • 1+ years of hands-on payroll and benefits experience (multi-state preferred) - Teague is based in WA and candidates must have experience with WA state payroll 
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems such as Paylocity, ADP Workforce Now, or UKG; and/or NetSuite experience is a plus.  
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc.) and comfort navigating large datasets.  
  • Growing knowledge of wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, and benefits regulations.  
  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage sensitive data with discretion.  
  • CPP or FPC through the American Payroll Association is a plus. 

  

The salary range for this job in most US geographic locations is $25.00 - $30.00.
