Payroll Analyst - Cambridge, UK (1-Year Fix Term Contract)

Hub & Hybrid working (up to 2 days per week in the office)

As Payroll Analyst here at Illumina in Cambridge, you will join our established EMEALA Payroll Team and play a critical role in delivering accurate, compliant, end-to-end payroll processing across the region. You will support payroll activity in over 17 countries, working closely with internal partners and external payroll providers to ensure all payroll cycles meet agreed service level agreements. This is a highly collaborative role where attention to detail, accountability, and a commitment to excellence are essential to ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time. Why you

You are an experienced Payroll professional with a strong background in a finance or payroll environment and are comfortable working at pace while maintaining exceptional accuracy. You bring solid knowledge of UK payroll processing and legislation, with exposure to European payrolls considered a strong advantage. You are proactive, detail-focused, and motivated by meeting tight deadlines while delivering a high-quality service to employees and stakeholders. You are confident using MS Office applications and ideally have experience working with SAP. You enjoy building trusted relationships, providing clear guidance, and collaborating across functions in a way that reflects Illumina’s commitment to Win Together.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly Payroll processing to a high level of accuracy
  • Ensuring all processes are regularly reviewed and fit for purpose, under a continual process improvement drive.
  • Ensure all net and statutory payments and reports are processed by their deadlines, including the processing of any bank payments.
  • Ensure all EMEA Payroll processing SLAs are adhered to.
  • Support employee related queries to conclusion.
  • Ensuring all processing documentation is up to date.
  • Support the Head of EMEA Payroll with the SOX requirements, as well as supplying the required evidence as and when required.
  • Process the Payroll Departments audit requests.
  • Supporting any EMEA Payroll projects as and when required
  • Support the day-to-day working relationship with the payroll suppliers.
  • Support the day to day working relationship with internal key contacts such as Stock Admin, HR, PS&C, C&B’s etc.

Preferred Educational Background:

  • CIPP Foundation Degree or equivalent Payroll qualification
