Position Summary:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Payroll professional to support and oversee the end-to-end processing of U.S. and Canada payrolls utilizing ADP GlobalView and Workday. This role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery while serving as a key resource for payroll analysis, system coordination, and employee support.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute weekly and biweekly payroll processing for U.S. and Canada employees using ADP GlobalView and Workday.
- Ensure accurate compensation for new hires, terminations, salary changes, and other employee lifecycle events.
- Process complex payroll transactions including commissions, bonuses, stock compensation, and other exception payments.
- Coordinate, validate, and consolidate payroll input files for system uploads.
- Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and compliance risks prior to payroll finalization.
- Research and resolve employee payroll inquiries, providing clear and detailed responses in a timely manner.
- Support audits, reporting requirements, and internal controls related to payroll processing.
- Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Drive process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including U.S. and/or Canada payroll processing.
- Hands-on experience with ADP GlobalView and Workday.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
- Experience managing payroll in a large, multi-state environment.
- Experience supporting SOX controls or payroll audits.
