Job Description


The Payroll Analyst is responsible for processing and auditing payroll through Workday, supporting the full end-to-end payroll cycle for all employees. This role includes reviewing payroll reports, identifying discrepancies, and processing administrative transactions when needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process weekly and biweekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Review and audit timekeeping data, including hours worked, overtime, and paid time off
  • Analyze payroll reports to identify discrepancies and make necessary corrections
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations across multiple states
  • Advise on company and governing body payroll rules and procedures
  • Partner with the HR department to resolve onboarding data issues and provide support for missing or inaccurate employee information
  • Respond to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Process manual checks as needed in accordance with company procedures
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting as require
  • Provide feedback on current procedures to help guide process improvement

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience (Workday experience preferred).
  • Retail payroll experience is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to work independently, especially during critical payroll cycles 
  • Solid understanding of multi-location and multi-state payroll requirements 
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail 

Technical Skills

  • Strong independent data validation and reconciliation techniques
  • Timekeeping expertise
  • Understanding of wage laws
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query)

Estimated Salary: $70k - 80k
Base pay is one component of David Yurman’s total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
