About the role

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Payroll Administrator to provide dedicated administrative and operational support to our Payroll Team, enabling accurate and timely payroll processes.


What You’ll Be Doing
 

  • Contribute to the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing by ensuring all administrative requirements are met ahead of payroll deadlines.

  • Assist Payroll Specialists and the Payroll Team Lead in the execution of payroll processes by performing a range of administrative tasks including termination calculations.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll information and adhere to all relevant company policies and legislative requirements.

  • Support the integrity and completeness of payroll data by coordinating with People & Culture (P&C) and other relevant teams to address data issues, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate payroll outcomes.

  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of payroll documentation, such as pay slips and employment verification letters.

  • Respond to routine employee payroll queries and requests, escalating complex or non-routine matters to the Payroll Specialist or Team Lead.

  • Support the reconciliation and maintenance of leave balances, superannuation details, and other payroll-related records.

  • Support the implementation of legislative and regulatory changes impacting payroll operations and support the management of superannuation payment processes to the Super clearing house (i.e., Payday Super).

  • Demonstrate adaptability to evolving payroll systems, technologies, and business processes, supporting the team in implementing changes as required.

  • Provide effective and reliable customer service to employees and business partners (especially P&C, HSE, and Finance) within agreed timeframes.


What You’ll Bring
 

  • 1-2 years working knowledge of Australian payroll systems (such as SAP, Workday, ADP, or similar) in payroll or administrative support environment.

  • Working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation including PAYG withholding, superannuation guarantee, and basic understanding of NES as they relate to payroll.

  • Basic understanding of common superannuation arrangements as relevant to payroll records.

  • Good understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and procedures, including from new starter to termination, year-end reconciliations and financial postings

  • Good skill level with Microsoft Excel with a high level of numeracy and detail orientated.
