The role:
As a Payment Operations Technician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our payment and card processing systems remain stable, accurate, and efficient. You’ll help safeguard service reliability, support continuous improvement, and collaborate across teams to keep our payment engine running smoothly.
You will:
• Monitor live payment systems to ensure stability, compliance, and SLA performance
• Respond to alerts and technical escalations, performing root‑cause analysis
• Identify opportunities for automation and process optimisation
• Work closely with Product, Service Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and third‑party suppliers
• Maintain accurate operational documentation and support audit readiness
• Share knowledge and contribute to team capability building
What You’ll Bring:
We’re looking for someone who is curious, analytical, and comfortable navigating complex technical environments.
Essential skills:
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability
• Experience with payment or financial operations systems
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios or AppDynamics
• Clear communication and collaboration skills
• High attention to detail and accountability
Desirable experience:
• Payments, fintech, or financial services background
• Exposure to scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• Experience with observability tools like Splunk or Grafana
• Understanding of FCA, PSD2, AML, or other regulatory frameworks
• Knowledge of ITIL or incident/problem/change management
