GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for programming, operating, and supporting fabric CNC cutting equipment to ensure accurate, efficient, and on‑time production. Serves as a technical lead within the cutting area and a key liaison between product development and manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Create, modify, maintain, and export CNC cutter programs using approved programming software.
Program CNC cutters to ensure daily production orders are completed accurately and efficiently.
Run CNC cutter and plotter as needed; assist in leading day-to-day cutting area activities.
Train and support CNC machine operators.

Ensure all cutting meets established quality and production standards.
Calculate accurate fabric yardage requirements using EMS and cutting systems.
Understand upholstery patterns and product options to maximize fabric yield.
Classify and grade fabrics into appropriate stretch categories using established standards, including newly implemented stretch classifications.

Pattern Development, Digitizing, and Management

Digitize new parts and maintain full working knowledge of the pattern digitizing process, including software, hardware, and technical support interaction.
Manage pattern changes and maintain accurate pattern databases.
Participate in textile and pattern approval processes.

Work closely with product development model makers on new product development.
Serve as liaison between product development and manufacturing/operations teams.
Collaborate with fabric purchasing and customer service to develop new patterns, yardage requirements, and pricing, as well as revise existing patterns.

Production and Order Support

Monitor and follow up on rush orders to ensure proper prioritization and on‑time delivery.
Answer fabric and pattern requirement questions to support internal teams.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience

One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency.

Previous understanding of patterns and fabric is preferred.

Previous experience with textile cutting equipment and software such as Accumark, PDS 2000, and System Management software is preferred.

Skills and Abilities
Ability to read, understand, communicate, and interpret written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies and practices, etc., at a level necessary to adequately perform the job required.
Competent in basic math skills, such as adding and subtracting.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as yardages, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as dispatch list, shop orders, and CAD drawings etc.

Ability to speak effectively to employees of organization. Good verbal communications skills are required for this position.
Reasoning skills required to ensure communication with vendors, co-workers, strong interpersonal, problem solving and reasoning skills are required.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Demonstrated initiative to lead others for improved performance and consistently demonstrated job performance that exceeds expectations.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with reasonable accommodations.
