The Patriot Program Quality Lead (PQL) in Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS), will support Patriot Product Line (PPL) Quality team on the Patriot Radar at our Andover, MA location. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; interfacing with the Factory to assist Production issue resolution, Continuous improvement, and Cost Savings initiatives. This Individual should have a strong quality mindset, proficient communication skills and ability to lead teams and collaborate across multiple functions to support the Patriot Radar IPT.

You will proactively engage with the product line and work in partnership with Program Leadership, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Operations, Deployed Teams and the Quality team. You will ensure the effective implementation of Quality and Mission Assurance requirements of the programs, and occasionally interface with U.S. Government Customers, Foreign Customers, and Suppliers.  You will primarily drive proactive engagements across our factories and suppliers that assist the Global Patriot portfolio, implement quality processes to reduce overall product lifecycle cost and risk.

This is an on-site position in Andover, MA.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Interface with the program quality teams, programs, suppliers, customers, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), supporting technical, quality and financial performance, and compliance with Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Closely interface with external and internal customers and key partners to establish effective relationships.
  • Must have the ability to manage and impact across multiple levels of stakeholders, as it is vital to the success of this role.
  • Ability to Self-Start, define a problem statement, explain impact, draft a plan, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive solutions
  • Responsible for:
    • Quality of delivered products and services to our customers, stakeholders of quality risks, uncertainties and opportunities, key team members in resolution of customer expectations and relationships related to Mission Assurance and Quality.
    • Developing and implementing strategic and tactical Mission Assurance plans that will closely affect the programs’ implementation and influence.
    • Improving processes or systems using significant conceptualization, reasoning, and interpretation skills. Problems and issues faced are numerous and undefined, and information is typically difficult to obtain.
  • Periodically report out to leadership teams providing updates to field planning information & updates on field issues, investigations and metrics.
  • Monitor / lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA. Identify when such activities are warranted.
  • Assuring inclusion of quality requirements, planning, and consistency for program proposals and subsequent management of the quality budget.
  • Generation of new Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) projects to reduce costs on the program.
  • Implement APQP as applicable.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of engineering and quality experience.
  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Working experience in providing technical program support for manufacturing/ production and/or design processes.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment (Operations quality, Manufacturing engineering)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.  U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma, Lean, CORE, or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification.
  • Active U.S. security clearance.
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
  • Experience in other functional area such as engineering, supply chain, or operations.
  • Experience in verbal and written communications and networking skills to work with upper management and customers.
  • Hands-on experience in solving both business and technical problems.
  • Experienced team player who achieves goals and strives for continuous improvement.
  • Experienced leader that exhibits presence and influence.
  • Experienced in contract flow and compliance.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
