• Greets patients, answers phones, and provides clerical support to clinical departments.
• Schedules appointment times using computerized scheduling systems.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification or authorization when required.
• Determines and accepts required payments such as co-pays and deductibles or refers patients to financial counselors for follow-up.
• Ensures all demographic, billing, and clinical information is collected and entered accurately and promptly in the registration system.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED.
