The Patient Services Representative performs receptionist, registration, and clerical duties associated with delivering patient care, with a strong emphasis on excellent customer service and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Welcome and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner.
Answer and route phone calls, taking messages or providing information as needed.
Schedule appointments accurately using computerized scheduling programs.
Verify insurance coverage and obtain precertification or authorization as required.
Collect and process payments such as co-pays and deductibles, or refer patients to financial counselors for assistance.
Enter and maintain accurate demographic, billing, and clinical information in the registration system.
Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive experience.
