Job Summary:

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Patient Services Representative to join our Kennebec Pediatrics Specialty Services team. This role plays a key part in ensuring every patient has a positive experience from check-in to check-out while supporting the clinic’s daily operations.

Job Description:

The Patient Services Representative performs receptionist, registration, and clerical duties associated with delivering patient care, with a strong emphasis on excellent customer service and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Answer and route phone calls, taking messages or providing information as needed.

  • Schedule appointments accurately using computerized scheduling programs.

  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain precertification or authorization as required.

  • Collect and process payments such as co-pays and deductibles, or refer patients to financial counselors for assistance.

  • Enter and maintain accurate demographic, billing, and clinical information in the registration system.

  • Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive experience.
