About The Role:
- The purpose of the Patient Administration Officer position is to provide a comprehensive range of administrative duties within the administration services area including bookings, back office, switchboard, admissions and reception.
- This role is accountable for the patient experience from reception to admission working closely with other teams to ensure every patient and visitor interaction is professional, compassionate and efficient.
- Deliver patient centred care that coordinates processes from bookings, admission and throughout hospitalisation, incorporating discharge.
- Provides patient information/ lists to doctors and hospital staff as per policy and legislative requirements
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy of information entered into our patient information and management systems
- Collate all paperwork for admission at least 48 hours prior to admission and takes accountability of any missing information by contacting relevant parties to gather missing information
- Assist with any other administrative duties as directed by Supervisor or Manager/ Executive.
About You:
- Experience in Health Administration.
- Ability to work within a flexible roster across 7 days of week with no set days or shift hours.
- Sound knowledge of Admission and Discharge processes within a hospital environment.
- Ability to plan and coordinate administrative processes and practices effectively, utilising systems available.
- Completion if medical terminology or demonstrated comprehensive understanding of medical terminology.

About The Mater:
In this role you will be based at the Mater hospital, North Sydney.
- One of Sydney’s premier private hospitals.
- Close by to train stations at North Sydney, St Leonards, and Crows Nest, and buses on Pacific Highway.
- The only Australian hospital that is a member of the International Society of Orthopaedic Centres.
- Core specialties include Obstetrics, Orthopaedics including hip and knee joint replacements, bone and sports injuries, cardiology, cancer care and surgery, lung and vascular medicine, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, endocrine surgery, and neurosurgery.
