Our medical staff includes over 500 providers from Foundation Medical Partners and local practices. Foundation Medical Partners, our multi-specialty group, spans 70+ practices across southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts, providing coordinated, patient-centered care to thousands each year.
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for greeting patients, answering incoming telephone calls, providing general information, checking patients in and out, communicating with internal and external customers, scheduling appointments, entering and tracking referrals, filing, scanning/indexing documentation, and assisting with other administrative duties as assigned.
Greet and register patients in a professional, appropriate manner.
Answer phones in accordance with FMP telephone policy.
Request appropriate authorizations and schedule requested tests.
Provide and accurately collect demographic information and consent forms.
Verify and update patient data in the medical record/database.
Collect co-pays; accurately balance and post daily batches.
Enter and track referrals; scan and index documentation.
Support ongoing EPIC workflow changes and integrated initiatives as needed.
Provide check-in and check-out services for all patients.
Provide alternating weekend and rotating holiday coverage as needed.
Assist with PCMH processes and special projects as assigned.
Adhere to Foundation Medical Partners’ policies and procedures.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA.
Apply principles of Patient Centered Medical Home.
Attend mandatory trainings and in-services.
Remain up to date on policy and procedure changes.
High School Diploma or GED required.
One year of customer service experience preferred.
Understanding of reception tasks, clinic procedures, and paperwork.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Familiarity with Windows-based office applications preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to perform detailed tasks and follow instructions.
Ability to multitask in a busy environment and meet deadlines.
Compassionate customer service orientation.
Ability to adapt to changing workflows and assist other offices as needed.
On-site role; frequent standing, sitting, walking, telephone use, and computer work.
Occasional bending and lifting up to 20 lbs.
Required use of protective attire (mask, gloves, etc.) and possible exposure to communicable diseases.
