The Ohio State University's College of Dentistry seeks a Patient Revenue Cycle Senior Coordinator to join the Patient Revenue Cycle Services team. This position is an important function in the health care delivery system. Reporting to the Manager of Patient Financial Services, this position provides support for registration and daily financial operations and helping to support our team. This is a full-time, on-site position working Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm.
This position will serve the patients of the College of Dentistry by verifying insurance coverages, pre-authorizations, and performing cashier and collections functions. The proportion of time this position will perform each of these functions varies based on the needs of the clinics. Additional responsibilities include answering phones; registering, scheduling, and greeting patients; verification and interpretation of insurance coverage; processing of patient payments; serves as liaison between doctors, patients, and payers.
The final candidate must successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements: Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this position is subject to indoor environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work as well as reviewing documents both in hard copy and electronic formats. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
Compensation: $18.37 - $23.99 based on experience.
Experience & Qualifications:
Required – Two years’ experience in customer service or communications, analyzing and interpreting information, operation of computer and related peripheral equipment, and information research and analysis.
Desired – 4-6 years’ experience customer service with direct (in-person) contact, preferably Healthcare, Dental/Medical office environment, experience using computers to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex; considerable data entry experience with a high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel); ability to use basic office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, laminators; a high level of verbal and written skills; ability to contribute and work within a fast-paces team environment.
