This position provides continuous video observation for patients who need extra support to stay safe. Using our video surveillance system, you’ll keep an eye on patient activity, watch for any signs they may need assistance, and notify the nursing team right away if something looks concerning. This role is all about ensuring patient safety through steady attention and clear communication.

Summary

The Monitor Tech provides support services. Some duties include: basic computer keyboarding skills, tearing down and assembling patient charts as appropriate, calling other departments to inform them of ordered tests and procedures as needed, and stocking supplies.

Job Description

In addition, the monitor tech will be responsible in monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms and vital signs as well as following set algorithm parameters that may raise alarms. This role must be able to interpret alarms and follow through with appropriate communication as needed. Must know how to use organizational policies and procedures. May have access to medications for purposes of distribution to licensed personnel. May include reception duties i.e. answering phones, use of multi-line telephone system and spectra-links. Must be organized and have ability to prioritize work, function under and handle stress and ability to do detailed work efficiently. Must have good interpersonal skills, strong communication skills and able to collaborate with other team members. Depending on location, the monitor tech may also be providing continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients. Summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance. Follows set algorithms, interprets alarming events, and follows through with appropriate communication as needed.

Qualifications

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) required.

Experience in healthcare is helpful. Previous experience with clerical/business services, communications equipment, and computer entry desirable but not required.
