Saint Francis Hospital is looking for a Patient Mobility Technician to join our Acute Care Inpatient Rehab Team. The Patient Mobility Technician (PMT) assumes a pivotal role in enhancing patient outcomes and satisfaction with care. They engage in meaningful social interactions with patients and their families, demonstrating skillful connection in a respectful and supportive manner to inspire and motivate individuals towards achieving personalized ambulation goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
Guiding patients in ambulation activities.
Diligently tracking and documenting the distance and frequency of each patient's daily walks, identifying, and addressing any obstacles to safe ambulation.
Empowering patients to express concerns or requests, with a strong ability to communicate these observations and requests effectively to the care team.
Demonstrating flexibility by adjusting walking schedules to maximize the number of patients engaged in daily walks.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior healthcare or patient service experience preferred but not required.
Must be organized and able to prioritize effectively.
Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Able to use a computer/mouse, etc.
Must have excellent customer service skills and ability to collaborate with the healthcare team.
