Union Hospital is seeking a part-time Patient Escort I to transport patients to appropriate hospital areas via stretcher, wheelchair, beds, and specialized vehicles to/from patient care and clinical service areas as directed by dispatchers or schedulers.

The hours for this position are 7:00am-3:30pm; and requires working every other weekend and a holiday rotation.

*Please note this position is part-time working 32 hours weekly*

What You’ll Do:

As a Patient Escort, you’ll play a vital role in patient care by:

  • Safely transporting patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to various hospital departments.

  • Assisting clinical staff with patient transfers.

  • Supporting the maintenance and readiness of transport equipment.

  • Upholding safety standards and ensuring a positive experience for patients and families.

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma preferred.

  • Prior customer service experience (2 years preferred).

  • Ability to obtain BLS certification upon hire.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented attitude.

  • Physical ability to walk and stand for long periods and handle equipment safely.

This position has a starting rate of $17.32 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34 per hour.

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
