Patient Care Technician Unit Secretary - NICU - Days - Per Diem

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Patient Care Technician Unit Secretary - NICU - Days

  • Location: Naperville, IL

  • Per Diem

  • Hours: Days 7 am to 7:30 pm ; rotating weekends & rotating holidays

  • Per Diem Commitment Level 1: Four to five 12 hour shifts scheduled within 6 weeks

  • Required Travel: Yes, floats to other women and children's units as a sitter

 

What you will do:

  • Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort and safety of patient. The Patient Care Tech/Unit Secretary position in the NICU also performs tasks related to receiving, preparing and delivering infant feedings under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian and according to established procedures.

What you will need:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required

  • Certification: Current BLS CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association & Certificate from an accredited nursing assistant training course (CNA); or minimum six months previous patient care experience or equivalent; or completion of one nursing clinical rotation

  • Attends patient care skills tasks related to preparing and delivering infant feedings

  • Strong math skills for preparing and delivering infant feedings

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions

  • Proficient communication skills

  • Attend in depth orientation regarding patient care skills tasks

  • NICU Specific: Current Food Handler Course Certificate of Completion
