Salary: £25,396.80 per annum

Job type: Permanent, Full-time

Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern:
8:00-18:00 or 9:00-19:00, one weekend in four.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic team player to join us as a Patient Care Assistant, working to help maintain a happy, efficient and effective working environment.

Your role and responsibilities

The role will be varied, working in all areas throughout the hospital including ward, theatre, laboratory and assisting with consultations.

You will learn new skills with structured in-house training, covering for example inpatient care and theatre skills.

There is a huge amount of support and training resources available to you that will help you develop and progress in the role of a Patient Care Assistant.

You will also have the support from a fantastic team of student nurses and RVNs (Registered Veterinary Nurses).

Duties include:

  • Assisting Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses

  • Providing reception cover

  • Animal handling and husbandry

  • General cleaning and practice maintenance

  • Assisting in preparing animals for surgeries

  • Communicating with the operating team to set up in between procedures

  • Assisting with x-rays and ultrasounds

  • Laboratory work
