Alta Vista Specialty & Emergency is hiring a Patient and Client Care Coordinator (Specialty & Emergency). This is a full-time (35-40 hours weekly) permanent position. The shifts will include days, evenings and weekends. This position reports directly to the Client Care Manager. This position is open to Client Care Representatives, Veterinary Technicians and Assistants.
Patient Care Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for several aspects of in-hospital patient care, including: coding files, acting as the liaison between the DVM and the client for patient, medical and financial updates, performing patient discharges, payments and educating the client on home care and necessary follow-up instructions.
This position is also responsible for client patient follow-up calls, assisting with dietary recommendations & other aspects of client care.
Client Care Responsibilities:
Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parents
Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
Placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
Respond and manage email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages
Admitting and discharging pet patients
Invoicing/billing; creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation and processing payments
Scheduling appointments
Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting people at ease and creating a welcoming environment
Qualifications:
Required: Fluent in English (Reading, Writing and Oral); and, Able to support patients up to 50kg and lift up to 25kg.
Preferred: Fluent bilingual in French and English (Reading, Writing and Oral). 1 year of client care experience.
