Patient Account Representative

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Patient Accounts Team Lead, the Patient Account
Representative is responsible for resolving inbound patient inquiries related to
billing in a multi-channel Contact Center Environment.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor multi-channel inbound patient billing inquires to ensure timely
response and accurate resolutions
2. Work with patients and insurance carriers to resolve patient billing
inquiries
3. Responsible for maintaining individual and departmental goals including
Average Handle Time, Service Level, Abandonment Rate, Call Quality,
and others
4. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information with a full
understanding of HIPAA requirements
5. Demonstrates flexibility to meet the needs of all internal and external
customers including changes to workflows, work volume and work
schedules
6. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
● 2-4 years in a healthcare environment required, preferably in billing, front
office administration or call center
● Ability to read and understand insurance EOBs
● Must possess strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to multi-task
while maintaining the highest-level of quality in every patient interaction

● High School diploma or GED required


Working Conditions:
● Standard office environment with occasional travel to corporate or office locations.
● Potential exposure to stressful situations and emergency scenarios.
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to sit for 3-4 hours at a time
● Fine finger coordination required for typing
● Ability to speak clearly with team members so others can understand.
● Ability to hear and understand others when speaking
● Ability to view computer screen monitor, small objects few feet away
