Meets with patients or their caregivers to exchange required information and documentation, providing clear explanations of processes and addressing any questions or concerns.
Communicates with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to coordinate necessary details and determine patient placement.
Verifies insurance benefits, obtains precertification or authorization when needed, and ensures verification of medical necessity.
Determines and collects required payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance, or refers patients to financial counselors for additional support.
Accurately obtains, reviews, and enters all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information in the registration system in a timely manner.
This role requires strong communication skills, accuracy, and a customer-focused approach, with flexibility to support various hospital or clinic departments as needed.
