Position: Pathologist Assistant

As a Pathologist's Assistant, you will work under the guidance of the Medical Director, assisting in all facets of anatomic pathology. You'll play a crucial role in preparing and examining surgical specimens for histological analysis.

PRN Opportunity

In this role, you will:

  • Be an integral part of the patient care process by preparing, grossly describing, and dissecting human tissue surgical specimens.

  • Identify when corrective actions are necessary and implement effective solutions.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced laboratory environment, navigating biological and chemical hazards.

  • Promote safety, compliance, and quality control in all operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or Master's degree from a Pathologist Assistant program accredited by NCCLS.

  • A minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience grossing a variety of tissue types, from simple to complex.

  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) BOC.

  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in operating general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.

Employees will receive training on reasonable safeguards and are expected to maintain strict confidentiality while adhering to all applicable privacy and security standards. Access to PHI should only occur as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
