About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and creative Pastry Sous Chef to join our main kitchen team. This is a key leadership position, working closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to manage the daily operations of a busy and dynamic pastry section. You will oversee the preparation and production of all pastry and dessert items for banqueting, in-room dining, amenities, and special events, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation.
What you’ll do:
Lead and inspire the pastry team, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence
Oversee the production of all pastry items for banqueting, in-room dining, amenities, and bespoke events
Maintain consistency in quality, taste, and presentation across all offerings
Support menu development and contribute innovative ideas for seasonal and signature creations
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
Assist with training and development of junior team members
Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth operations
What you bring:
Previous experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or strong experience as a Senior Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel.
Exceptional technical skills in pastry and dessert preparation
A passion for creativity and attention to detail
Strong understanding of hotel amenities
Strong leadership and organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of current pastry trends and techniques
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings
