Pastry Cook
About the Role:
As a Pastry Cook at Four Seasons Resort Nevis, you will play a key role in crafting exceptional desserts and pastries that reflect our commitment to quality, creativity, and guest satisfaction. Working under the guidance of the Executive Pastry Chef, you will prepare and present a variety of sweet items, such as cakes, chocolates, ice creams, sorbets, and showpieces with precision and artistry.
Your attention to detail, consistency, and passion for pastry will ensure that every guest experience is memorable. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen environment, where teamwork, organization, and a love for the culinary arts are essential.
What You Will Do:
• Prepare and bake a variety of pastry and dessert items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Assist in producing pastries for all hotel outlets and banquets under the supervision of the Pastry Chef and Assistant Pastry Chef.
• Decorate and finish pastries and desserts with creativity and attention to detail.
• Support the AM breakfast shift and other meal periods as needed.
• Maintain par levels of pastry items such as doughs, sponges, creams, and ice creams.
• Keep work areas, equipment, and storage spaces clean, organized, and compliant with sanitation standards.
• Adhere to Four Seasons’ food safety and hygiene procedures to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow kitchen team members and contribute to a positive, supportive work culture.
• Minimize waste through careful preparation, storage, and portion control.
What You Will Bring:
• Passion for the culinary arts with a focus on pastry and dessert creation.
• Minimum two years of experience in a hotel, resort, or fine-dining pastry kitchen.
• High school diploma or equivalent; formal pastry or culinary training preferred.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, flavor combinations, and dessert presentation.
• Ability to operate and maintain pastry equipment such as mixers, ovens, and food processors.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
