Role Overview:

This role will join the Formula 1 Commercial Partnerships team based in London, responsible for the management and ongoing growth of Formula 1’s Commercial Partners across the globe. The person in this role will have significant responsibilities in leading the management of some of F1’s largest commercial partners and driving best practice and objectives of the wider organization.  

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Account Management

  • Responsible for leading the account management for a group of F1 Global and Official partners and supporting Account Executives on their partner management.
  • Manage the delivery of contractual rights for each partner across events, digital, broadcast, hospitality etc.
  • Define and implement an account management structure with day-to-day contact that drives efficient communications and productivity of projects. E.g. arrangement of regular calls, status documents, f2f meetings etc.
  • Build/maintain/grow positive relationships with partners at all stakeholder levels from day-to-day contact to CEO/board level
  • Work closely with partners (and in some cases supporting agencies) to define a sponsorship strategy for their Formula 1 partnership with measurable KPIs.
  • Identify key areas where your partners and F1 share mutual objectives and aims and work with the wider business to develop ideas and support these
  • Reporting (coordinating or managing); results & case studies that relate to partner KPIs
  • Support the Senior team with contract renewals for the brands in your portfolio

Commercial Partnership Team

  • Working with all members of the Partnership Management team in management and support of the wider team’s objectives and operations including team and individual management as it relates to accounts you or the team work on and support
  • Support the Commercial Partnerships department in reaching its financial targets
  • Implement strong processes and systems within your work to continue to drive performance within yourself and the wider team
  • Support to manage special events the team are planning e.g. partnership workshops, Drive to Survive screenings in the region, Technical workshops
  • Support the new business team with relevant meetings where applicable at events or as needed for support within the office (please note this is not a new business sales role)

Wider F1 Business

  • Work with other commercial teams e.g. Marketing, Events, Digital to help package ideas that partners may want to invest in or support.
  • Where needed, make time for other commercial teams to help them build their strategies etc. providing relevant feedback from a partner POV. May include responding to decks or attending workshops etc.
  • Develop strong internal relationships by investing the time to understand and appreciate the different processes and working practices of each area of the business and how you might mutually support each other best in day-to-day and strategic priorities
  • Unusual hours and weekend working (events) will be required.

What Are We Looking For?

Experience

Prior to the role it would be essential that you:

  • 6 years+ experience in similar role at a dynamic organization.
  • Experience activating sponsorships is essential.
  • A strong understanding of brand and communications and the role of sponsorship in the broader marketing landscape.
  • Proven account management track record with key relationships and high-level clients.

Some desirable experience that you may bring to the role:

  • Experience in motorsport would be an advantage.
  • Experience within a sports/entertainment sponsorship agency would be an advantage.

Knowledge & Skills

Prior to the role it is essential that you demonstrate:

  • Creative ability to construct bespoke sponsorship activations meeting client needs.
  • Highly independent, performance-driven, and comfortable with working in a dynamic, fast paced global environment to tight deadlines.
  • Effectively managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Analytical/strategic ability to identify where current and potential sponsors may be able to bring value to F1.
  • Strong professional network within the sports sponsorship industry.
  • A first-class Sports Sponsorship expert.

Personal Qualities:

In this role it is essential that you are:

  • Holds themselves and the people they work with to the same high standards.
  • Supports and appreciates the work of the team and wider business in meeting your goals.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and relationship builder. Advanced communication and presenting capabilities.

Qualifications:

Not essential to be successful in the role but you may also have the following qualifications:

  • Fluent spoken English – additional languages a plus.
  • A UK driving licence
