About the role:

This contract role is equal parts community care, content support, and performance visibility. You’ll keep conversations moving, content flowing, and insights visible so our Social Media Manager can focus on strategy and storytelling.

What you'll do:

Community and Communication Management

  • You’ll be the front line of our social presence, making sure conversations feel thoughtful, timely, and on brand.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and mentions across platforms using Sprout Social
  • Use pre-approved responses and follow escalation guidelines for sensitive or high-priority messages
  • Flag brand-sensitive comments, emerging issues, or notable feedback quickly
  • Route relevant insights and feedback to internal teams and the Social Media Manager
  • Help ensure our community feels heard, respected, and supported

Reporting and Performance Tracking

  • You’ll help us understand what’s working, what’s shifting, and where to dig deeper.
  • Pull weekly and monthly performance reports from Sprout
  • Track baseline metrics including engagement, follower growth, top posts, and video performance
  • Surface quick insights and anomalies, such as unexpected spikes or dips
  • Maintain a simple reporting doc, deck, or dashboard for easy reference
  • Pull tag-level performance data by campaign, tag, or content type
  • Apply and maintain consistent tagging to support clean, reliable reporting

Trend and Inspiration Research

  • You’ll help us stay culturally aware without chasing noise.
  • Monitor trends across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Identify trends that genuinely align with 8am, our audiences, and our brand standards
  • Add relevant examples directly into the existing inspiration deck for review and discussion

Content Publishing Support

  • You’ll help ensure approved content goes live accurately and on time.
  • Schedule approved posts in Sprout, including captions, visuals, links, and tags
  • Apply approved naming conventions and tags during scheduling to support reporting accuracy
  • Double-check details so published content reflects our standards and voice

About you:

  • Experience managing or supporting brand social media accounts
  • Comfort working in Sprout Social or similar publishing and reporting tools
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Clear written communication and good judgment around tone and escalation
  • Ability to work independently while staying aligned with brand guidelines
  • Interest in social trends, performance data, and how content connects to business outcomes
