JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Office of Entrepreneurship & Commercialization (OEC) is seeking a part-time Research Commercialization Intern for Summer 2026. This position will support a variety of entrepreneurship and commercialization programs within Invent Penn State and will report to the Director of Research Startups.
 

This internship is expected to average 15–20 hours per week during Summer 2026. The intern will provide support for both new and ongoing initiatives related to research commercialization, entrepreneurship programming, and startup support.
 

Responsibilities may include:

· Providing administrative support for entrepreneurship programs and initiatives.

· Assisting with the development of commercialization guidance materials and resources

· Supporting program data collection, organization, and migration.

· Conducting online research related to entrepreneurship, innovation, and commercialization.

· Using cloud-based tools such as Microsoft 365 and Salesforce to support program operations.

· Supporting the NSF I-Corps Program Manager with outreach and communications including recruitment efforts for upcoming regional programs.

· Assisting with projects related to OEC initiatives, including the NSF I-Corps program, Research Commercialization activities, and the Startup Leadership Network.
 

Required qualifications:

· Completion of at least two years of a four-year degree program by the start of Summer 2026

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

· Strong problem-solving skills

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Preferred qualifications:

· Interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, startups, or research commercialization

· Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to contribute ideas

· Experience with Microsoft 365 or similar cloud-based tools

This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting entrepreneurship and research commercialization programs and to contribute to resources and initiatives that serve researchers, innovators, and startup teams.
 

Additional information:

· Pay: $17.00 per hour

· Hours: 15–20 hours per week

· Location: In-person, with the potential for a limited number of remote hours each week
