What We Offer, Location & Schedule
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $22.53-33.80/hour. New hires are typically brought into the organization with a starting pay between $22.83-26.50/hour, based on education and experience. This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. This position will work no more than 39 hours per week. This position is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.
In this position, you can expect to work 20-25 hours per week, all in office, located at the Wellington Webb Building, located at 201 W Colfax Ave. Denver, CO 80202.

The Part Time Licensing Technician will need to be comfortable and adept at working within a web-based system and explaining city licensing rules, regulations, and state statutes to customers.
Key responsibilities will include:
Working with independent contractors and customers to determine and communicate licensing requirements and necessary documents
Manage a high volume of inbound calls while professionally assisting a diverse customer base, effectively de-escalating challenging interactions, identifying customer needs, and maintaining composure under pressure
Become a subject matter expert on the ePermits platform, providing clear, step-by-step support to help customers successfully navigate the system and complete license and certificate applications or renewals
Obtaining, monitoring, tracking, and organizing data that may require information searches through files, policies, procedures, records or computer files
Performing routine data entry and other office support activities, including creating, sorting, scanning, photocopying, distributing, and filing documents
Stocking counter with adequate forms and other required materials
Performing other related duties as assigned or requested

Previous experience within the construction field helpful
An understanding of how to research and apply municipal codes and statutes
Excellent customer service and problem solving skills
Ability to learn quickly
Familiar with the following software programs: Accela Permit Tracking System (helpful, not required), Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Efficiently demonstrates excellent time/work management skills
Works well under pressure and able to multitask
Strong attention to detail and highly organized
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of clerical experience including one (1) year of experience performing specialized and/or technical office support work.
Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
