The Department of Health Professions Education (HPE) at the UofL School of Medicine invites applications for Part-time Lecturer (PTL) teaching positions specializing in Simulation in Health Professions Education.
Minimum Education and Experience
Terminal degree preferred; candidates with a minimum of eight years of experience in simulation design and/or implementation will also be considered.
Highest graduate degree must be in a relevant field or closely related discipline, with clear justification of qualifications.
Demonstrated teaching experience at the university or professional level is required.
Active involvement and recognized contributions at the national level in simulation-based education or research within a healthcare discipline are strongly desired.
Position Expectations
Instructors are expected to:
Develop and submit a detailed course syllabus.
Select and order required textbooks or learning materials.
Deliver engaging and interactive learning experiences using simulation methodologies.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to students.
Communicate regularly with students and the academic program director.
Maintain professional and collegial relationships within the University of Louisville community and among external partners.
Submit course data, student assessments, and final grades according to university deadlines.
Complete all required documentation, including the attestation disclosure form.
Compensation
Compensation is based on a per-credit-hour rate and the number of enrolled students.
