Position Description:

The Department of Health Professions Education (HPE) at the UofL School of Medicine invites applications for Part-time Lecturer (PTL) teaching positions specializing in Simulation in Health Professions Education.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Terminal degree preferred; candidates with a minimum of eight years of experience in simulation design and/or implementation will also be considered.

• Highest graduate degree must be in a relevant field or closely related discipline, with clear justification of qualifications.

• Demonstrated teaching experience at the university or professional level is required.

• Active involvement and recognized contributions at the national level in simulation-based education or research within a healthcare discipline are strongly desired.

Position Expectations

Instructors are expected to:

• Develop and submit a detailed course syllabus.

• Select and order required textbooks or learning materials.

• Deliver engaging and interactive learning experiences using simulation methodologies.

• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students.

• Communicate regularly with students and the academic program director.

• Maintain professional and collegial relationships within the University of Louisville community and among external partners.

• Submit course data, student assessments, and final grades according to university deadlines.

• Complete all required documentation, including the attestation disclosure form.

Compensation

Compensation is based on a per-credit-hour rate and the number of enrolled students.
