The School of Social Sciences invites applications for Part-Time Lecturers (PTLs) to teach in the Master of Science in Psychology (MScP) programme.
We are looking for PTLs to serve as primary instructors for both foundational and specialisation courses within the MScP curriculum. Successful candidates will be responsible for course and curriculum development, course delivery, student consultation and marking duties.
Qualification and requirement:
- Successful candidates will hold a doctorate-level or a masters-level qualification in an appropriate Psychological field or other related fields, be able to demonstrate effective teaching and training of postgraduate students. Candidates with specialisations in one or more of these fields are particularly welcome: Community Health Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Neuropsychology and Thanatology. Evidence of excellence in teaching and/or clinical supervision is highly desirable.
- Successful candidates will be expected to contribute significantly to teaching and development of multiple courses at the postgraduate level, including foundational and specialisation courses.
Essential selection criteria:
- The attainment of a higher degree (PhD/DPhil/Masters) in Psychology or a related discipline
- Experience and interest in teaching postgraduate psychology students, with a strong and demonstrable commitment to the organisation and delivery of teaching, particularly in one or more areas of Community Health Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Neuropsychology and Thanatology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills relevant to teaching and pastoral care • Willingness and ability to contribute to the overall objectives of the Programme and School, working collaboratively with others
Desirable selection criteria:
- Experience of academic administration
