JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Penn State IT Support Services is looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused intern to join our team as IT Support Specialist. These positions are part-time. The IT Support Services Intern supports day‑to‑day IT support operations while gaining exposure to multiple functions through a mix of frontline support work and structured learning activities. These are in-person positions at University Park. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a customer-first mindset are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues reported by users

  • Provide basic IT support in various professional settings

  • Follow up with users to ensure their issues have been resolved promptly

  • Create and maintain documentation for IT systems and procedures

  • Assist with various IT projects and initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Basic knowledge of IT systems and troubleshooting procedures

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
