JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Conferences and Institutes is hiring an Instructional Assistant/Course Trip Facilitator and Driver for specific courses that have off-site learning components. Duties may include assisting with content development and instruction; preparation of learning materials and activities; presentation of specific subjects; assisting with course activities; supervising students during class trips; following appropriate protocols in the instance of student illness/injury or emergency during class trips. Duties will also include driving undergraduate students and equipment to off-site locations and acting as the designated chaperone for all class trip activities. Other course duties may be assigned, as warranted by course instructor.

Since this position requires operation of a motor vehicle as part of the job duties a valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. Drivers will be requested to drive a variety of vehicles up to the size of a 15-passenger van. Additional training may be required.

 

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
