JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies is seeking a part‑time Instructional Design Assistant to support the development of online courses.
Job Duties
- Assist with creating and updating online course materials.
- Support faculty and instructional designers with organizing content and applying basic instructional design principles.
- Help integrate educational technologies and multimedia elements.
- Ensure course materials meet accessibility and quality standards.
- Use project management tools to track tasks and follow established workflows.
- Provide basic support for course setup and troubleshooting in Canvas.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Familiarity with Canvas or similar LMS (training available).
- Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
- Interest in instructional design and educational technology.
- Experience with tools such as Articulate 360 or Adobe Creative Suite is helpful but not required.
- Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a plus.
