JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies is seeking a part‑time Instructional Design Assistant to support the development of online courses.

Job Duties

Assist with creating and updating online course materials.
Support faculty and instructional designers with organizing content and applying basic instructional design principles.
Help integrate educational technologies and multimedia elements.
Ensure course materials meet accessibility and quality standards.
Use project management tools to track tasks and follow established workflows.
Provide basic support for course setup and troubleshooting in Canvas.

Requirements and Qualifications

Familiarity with Canvas or similar LMS (training available).
Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Interest in instructional design and educational technology.
Experience with tools such as Articulate 360 or Adobe Creative Suite is helpful but not required.
Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a plus.
