About the Role
As an Early Childhood Meal Attendant, you will be responsible for running the day to day activities of a daycare kitchen, including providing meals and snacks, maintaining a clean space, washing dishes, following state licensing guidelines and managing dietary restrictions.
What You’ll Do
Create menus and prepare healthy snacks for the children in the center
Partner with our food service vendor to provide accurate daily numbers, portions, and allergy information
Deliver lunch to the classrooms in a timely manner
Wash dishes used for meals of approximately 200 children, three times a day
Order food and supplies, and manage inventory
Maintain an organized and sanitary kitchen environment that meets proper conditions and food storage requirements
Understand the needs of children with food allergies
Attend all staff meetings to obtain required continuing education hours
Maintain all state required trainings including but not limited to: preventing abusive head trauma, child abuse and neglect reporting requirements, First Aid and Infant/Child CPR with AED and kitchen sanitation, food handling, and nutrition
Additional tasks may be assigned

Knowledge of proper nutritional standards, food handling, preparation, safety and sanitation
Strong communication and customer service skills to build welcoming and inclusive relationships with families, staff, vendors and business partners

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and interact effectively with others

Ability to comply with dress code requirements
Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and basic computer operation
Ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance and have flexibility within the hours of operation
Ability to learn and comply with all company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
Ability to receive, understand and proactively respond to direction from leadership and other company personnel
Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively and appropriately with others
Ability to maintain composure and work in a fast paced environment while accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes
Ability to use a personal computer/ipad for tasks such as communicating, preparing reports, etc.

Physical / Cognitive Requirements
Ability to lift 40lbs
Ability to stand, sit, squat, bend, twist, walk and move at a fast pace may all be required throughout your day
Be physically, mentally, and emotionally able to provide responsible care for all children, including children with disabilities
Additional Requirements
If hired, Drug Screen, Health Exam, Fingerprint Based Background Check and TB test will be required
Travel between CDC sites as needed
