Integrated Learning Design (ILD) designs, develops, delivers, and supports learning experiences for internal and external clients. Our products reflect TNTP’s perspectives and priorities, authentic practice opportunities, and best practices for adult learning. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

TNTP’s course writers work as part of a content development team that includes a project manager, subject matter experts, instructional designers, course writers, editors, and testers. You will collaborate with other team members to write clear, concise, and engaging learning content for adult learners whose work directly affects students in public PK – 12 settings. 


Specific responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with course and content development teams to produce high-quality learning products.

  • Adhere to ILD’s guidelines, specifications, course outlines, storyboard templates, and other documents.

  • Write, revise, and finalize content in collaboration with SMEs and other relevant team members. 

  • Develop well-written content and supporting materials that align to observable and measurable outcomes.

  • Partner with instructional designers to create learning activities, interactive scenarios, and other elements that support a practice-based, application-focused learning experience.

  • Work with editors to hand-off build-ready content to instructional designers.

  • Balance tight deadlines with the expectation to deliver high-quality, instructionally sound learning experiences. 

WHAT YOU HAVE

We expect our course writers to possess superb writing skills, The ability to work as part of a team, execute on-time, and effectively communicate is critical to the success of this position.   

Specifically, we are looking for:  

  • Experience working on remote teams (required).

  • Ability to write strong objectives using Bloom’s Taxonomy.

  • Ability to align objectives, content, collateral documents, and assessments.

  • Ability to simplify complex content without reducing rigor.

  • Knowledge of plain-language practices for readability.

  • Strong editing/proofreading skills.

  • Ability to write effective scripts for audio and video components 

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  

  • Ability to manage and action rounds of constructive feedback.

  • Comfort with an iterative design and development process.

  • Proven success in writing content for use in adult learning (required).

  • Familiarity with a typical course or content development cycle, such as ADDIE.  

  • Lesson and curriculum design and development skills, including assessments (required; strong preference for candidates demonstrating ability to work across multiple subject areas/topics).

  • Comfort producing copy in a fast-paced environment.

Time Commitment  

Integrated Learning Designs course development team members can expect up to 20 hours of orientation and project-embedded onboarding, with a combination of synchronous and asynchronous work. Course development team members are assigned to projects on an as-needed basis, with course development project timelines varying between several weeks and up to a full year or more.

TNTP offers a competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience in a similar position. The pay rate for this position is $43.00 per hour.
