Title: AM Bistro Attendant 

Location: Glenwood Springs, CO  

Status: Part-time (up to 20 hours) 

Reports to: Assistant General Manager/Bistro Supervisor  

Pay Range: $15.50/+tips 

Job Summary: The AM Bistro Attendant is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service during breakfast operations while maintaining cleanliness, food quality, safety standards, and efficient front- and back-of-house operations. This position supports all aspects of the hotel bistro, including guest interaction, food and beverage preparation, cashier responsibilities, stocking, cleaning, and kitchen support. 

Schedule 

  • Early morning availability required  

  • Breakfast service hours: 6:30 AM – 10:00 AM  

  • Weekend and holiday availability may be required 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

Guest Service 

  • Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, professional service  

  • Follow hospitality service standards including the 15/5 guest acknowledgment rule  

  • Accurately take guest orders, process payments, and communicate orders to the kitchen  

  • Ensure dine-in and to-go orders are prepared and delivered correctly and promptly  

  • Maintain menu knowledge and answer guest questions regarding food and beverage offerings  

  • Prepare and serve specialty coffee beverages to Starbucks “We Proudly Serve” standards  

Front of House Operations 

  • Open and prepare the bistro for daily breakfast service  

  • Operate POS/MICROS system and manage cash drawer procedures  

  • Brew coffee and maintain beverage stations throughout service  

  • Stock and organize coffee supplies, condiments, pastries, beverages, utensils, and to-go supplies  

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, counters, displays, equipment, and service stations  

  • Monitor and replenish inventory throughout the shift  

  • Ensure televisions, music, and dining atmosphere meet hotel standards  

Kitchen Support 

  • Assist with breakfast food preparation and execution according to recipes and service standards  

  • Prepare breakfast sandwiches, burritos, bacon, fruit cups, yogurt cups, and other menu items  

  • Operate kitchen equipment including TurboChef oven, fryer, griddle, dishwasher, and espresso machines safely and correctly  

  • Maintain food safety standards, temperature logs, sanitation procedures, and proper food labeling/dating  

  • Wash dishes, sanitize work areas, and restock kitchen supplies as needed  

Closing Duties 

  • Complete all assigned cleaning and restocking responsibilities  

  • Properly clean and maintain coffee and kitchen equipment  

  • Complete end-of-shift cash handling and reporting procedures  

  • Sweep, mop, sanitize, and organize all front- and back-of-house areas  

  • Prepare the bistro and kitchen for the following day’s service 

 

Qualifications 

  • Previous hospitality, restaurant, café, barista, or customer service experience preferred  

  • Cash handling and POS experience preferred  

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment  

  • Strong communication and guest service skills  

  • Basic food safety and sanitation knowledge preferred  

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team  

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods  

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds  

  • Ability to bend, reach, carry, and perform repetitive motions  

  • Comfortable working in a kitchen and food service environment  

 

Performance Expectations 

  • Maintain professionalism and positive guest interactions at all times  

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization throughout the shift  

  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hotel operational standards  

  • Prepare and deliver breakfast items within established service timelines  

  • Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail 

Work Environment:  

  • Primarily works indoors, with protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes.  

  • Frequently stands and walks for long periods 

  • Regularly lifts and carries objects up to 20 lbs., and frequently handles objects weighing up to 10 lbs.  

  • Requires reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and seeing as part of daily responsibilities.  

  • Flexibility to work days, weekends, and holidays as needed.
