Parsons Animation Festival Assistant

L - 2 West 13th Street Part time

The New School was founded by forward-thinking educators in 1919 to defy the intellectual constraints of a traditional college education. We are seeking knowledgeable and enthusiastic students to join our team supporting the Parsons Animation Festival. The Animation Festival Assistant for BFA Illustration will support the Animation Festival Coordinating Faculty to help determine submissions, event organization, and curation. Students will also work on promotions for the event (posters, program, postcards, and posting on a festival social media/webpage). They will also be required to attend a total of no more than 4 meetings per year to this effect. This position is open to all students of the School of Art, Media, and Technology.

  • Support the Animation Festival Coordinating Faculty to help determine submissions for the Animation Festival

  • Support the Program Administrator in event organization and curation

  • Work on promotions for the event (posters, program, postcards, signal film, and others)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a student at the School of Art, Media, & Technology. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with event organization. 

  • Experience with Illustrator and Photoshop. 

WORK MODE

  • On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely.

Hourly Rate

$21.00/hr

Hours: 10 hrs/semester
