Description:
The Parks & Facilities Supervisor II is responsible for supervising 1st-line supervisors responsible for the maintenance, repair, and restoration of parks, park amenities, facilities, and structures. Ensure effective working relationships between staff, other departments, and subcontractors.

COMPENSATION:
Hiring Range: $81,956.35 – $94,249.80 USD Annual
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Direct, review and manage the maintenance, repair, and restoration of parks, park amenities, facilities, structures, fencing, pavement areas, and storm water and environmental drainage projects. Ensure accuracy of construction to plans, and conformance to standards and building codes. Oversee adherence to building codes, OSHA safety guidelines, storm water management, health and safety procedures, and Americans with disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Travel to work sites to assess, review and monitor work performed.
- Develop annual inspection plans and oversee the inspections of parks, amenities, facilities, and structures to ensure public safety. Update management on issues and resolutions.
- Oversee the development and delivery of public outreach and educational programming. Ensures information aligns with rules and regulations and supports park stewardship.
- Oversee all projects and evaluations of work objectives. Ensure successful completion of projects. Coordinate and oversee all maintenance and repair efforts with internal and external stakeholder
- Participate in the planning and development of parks and park trailheads for standards, specifications, feasibility, and functionality to achieve a sustainable infrastructure. Assist in planning and reviewing for building design, material selection, site constraints, budget feasibility, scheduling and timing. Assists with input and data collection for contribution to an asset management system.
- Assist and respond to emergency management requests. Provide emergency response and public assistance for search and rescue and first aid response. Provide input and action for areas of expertise and specialized training.
- Provide stewardship and asset management by tracking, planning, budgeting and scheduling maintenance and repair projects. Monitor expenditures and prepare operational budgets. Develop specifications for purchase of equipment and vehicles.
- Provide annual reports to leadership and stakeholders concerning stormwater compliance. Develop solutions to resolve issues.
- May oversee the operation and management of the department's fleet assets to include the procurement of an array of specialized equipment and attachments. Provide recommendations for future needs and the surplus of underutilized equipment. Utilizes GPS tracking software to understand utilization.
- Review and approve the procurement of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure they meet standards and need requirements. Partners with the real estate program on land acquisition.
- Ensure effective communication between staff, other divisions and departments, vendors, contractors and the public. Build strategic relationships internally and external to facilitate effective communication.
- Participate in the planning and development of standards and specifications to achieve a sustainable infrastructure. Assist in plan development and review for building design, material selection, site constraints, budget feasibility, scheduling and timing.
- Supervise staff in area of responsibility. Administers and makes recommendations for routine personnel matters affecting subordinates, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, scheduling, granting leave, appraisals, and taking corrective action. Conducts performance evaluations and communicates short- and long-term goals and objectives. Submits personnel records and reports as required by the County. Assists and advises subordinates as necessary, resolves problems as non-routine situations arise, and ensures adherence to established policies, procedures and standards. Communicate changes in policy and procedures to direct reports and implement them as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent certificate
- Experience: Five (5) years of work-related experience & two (2) years of supervisory experience
- Certifications/Licenses: None
- Note an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
- CPR Certification within 6 months of date of hire
- First Aid Certification within 6 months of date of hire
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Jeffco supervisor training classes
- National Parks & Recreation Association Playground Safety Inspector certification
- IS700/800 incident management training
ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION:
