Pay Rate: (G22) $20.95 - $28.88 per hour (depending on experience)

What are the main duties? (Click here for more information about job duties and requirements.)
Lead and support part-time Parking Enforcement Officers, including training, scheduling, and helping review their performance.
Patrol city streets and parking lots to ensure parking rules are followed.
Issue parking tickets to vehicles that break parking laws or rules.
Check vehicles for time-limit violations, including marking tires and watching for 72-hour parking issues.
Request towing when vehicles need to be removed.
Help the public by explaining parking rules, giving directions, and responding to 311 calls.
Use technology, such as license plate readers and computer software, to check permits, record information, and write reports.
Work with other City departments by reporting abandoned vehicles, safety hazards, and damaged signs or equipment.
Keep accurate records and reports and assist in ticket appeals when needed.
Help with traffic control during events and perform other related duties as assigned.
What are the minimum requirements?
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
One year of experience in parking enforcement or support in a medium to large program, preferably a city or large university.
OR an equivalent combination of job-related education, training, and/or experience [substituting each one year of post-secondary education/training for six months of experience].
A valid, lawful Driver License and acceptable driving record at the time of and through employment.
What is the selection process?
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on December 10th. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
