JOB TITLE: Paralegal, Employment and Litigation

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
The Legal Department at TelevisaUnivision is looking for a Paralegal to join our team!
The Paralegal will provide day-to-day support both the Global Employment and U.S. Litigation teams. This includes assisting with employment-related legal matters across multiple jurisdictions and supporting all phases of U.S. litigation, managing and tracking litigation filings, deadlines, and case developments, maintaining case management systems, document repositories, and tracking reports, and supporting internal reporting and analytics related to claims and disputes. The position will also be responsible for coordinating responses to subpoenas, discovery requests, and agency inquires, and ensuring pertinent information is disseminated to stakeholders including Legal, HR and business teams. Additional responsibilities include supporting internal investigations, coordinating with outside counsel and assisting with employment-related compliance and risk mitigation initiatives.
The position will have dual reporting to the Senior Vice President of Labor, Employment and Litigation.
ABOUT YOU:
You are an experienced paralegal with significant organization skills, discretion in dealing with sensitive issues, experience supporting employment, intellectual property (including copyright), and business-related litigation matters, as well as a solid understanding of the litigation/administrative proceedings process. You have familiarity with copyright enforcement, DCMA processes, and issues impacting digital/streaming content. You are a self-starter who is comfortable and thrives working in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
YOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities)
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to gather information and coordinate with third parties to produce information in connection with employment, IP, and litigation matters
- Draft subpoena responses and prepare production response, under the supervision of an attorney
- Manage and maintain document management system and case trackers, including litigation logs, deadlines, and matter status reporting
- Support contract-related disputes and coordinate with stakeholders to gather and track relevant agreements in connection with litigation or claims
- Draft and manage correspondence relating to DMCA takedown notices, and work with appropriate stakeholders to ensure compliance and timely response, particularly in connection with digital and streaming content
- Manage copyright related claims or demands, including gathering of relevant information and ensuring compliance with preservation requirements
- Draft litigation hold notices and monitor compliance with document preservation obligations
- Assist with internal investigations and litigation-related data or discovery collection, organization, and review
- Perform other paralegal functions as assigned, with a focus on employment, IP/copyright, streaming-related issues, and general business litigation support
YOU HAVE: (aka Qualifications)
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of paralegal experience in a law firm and/or in house legal environment, with significant experience supporting employment, intellectual property (including copyright), and business litigation matters.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certification
- Notary public qualification a plus, but not required
- Demonstrated experience in managing litigation matters, including tracking deadlines, filings, discovery, and case status across multiple matters
- Experience managing employment agreements and templates, including drafting support, tracking agreement lifecycles (e.g., execution, renewals, amendments, and expirations), and maintaining organized repositories and status trackers
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with business stakeholders at all levels and coordinate with outside counsel
- Strong organizational skills with critical attention to detail, and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects under deadline and appropriately prioritize
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
- Spanish & English fluency – excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat; experience with eDiscovery platforms and document management systems preferred
- Highly collaborative individual with ability to influence others and build strong professional relationships, including with business leaders and legal partners, external counsel and third-party claimants or agencies
- Experience handling copyright claims, DMCA takedown processes, and issues related to digital or streaming content strongly preferred
